For Designblok 2022 5–9 October BROKIS has created a forest of light featuring its latest collections. The new lights were officially unveiled during Glassmakers’ Night at Janštejn Glassworks, which was also a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the modern history of the glassworks.
In an installation entitled LIGHT UP THE TREES, which was specially prepared for Designblok 2022, symbolic hollow trunks of forest giants stand tall. Shining within like gemstones trapped in muted microcosms are lights from the Overlay, Prisma, and Orbis collections by Lucie Koldova and the Double series by LCM MARIN Design Studio. Either together or on their own, the lights embody the brand’s core virtues: wisdom in a traditional elegance made ever special with something new, such as the playful proportions and subtle touch of colour in the Orbis collection; a tireless passion for seeking out original forms of large-format handblown glass, refined details, and collaboration with renowned foreign designers that have given rise to the Double series; the determination to never compromise on craftsmanship, stunning style, and the commitment to sustainability that inspires others, such as in the Overlay collection; and the courage to set off into the dark of unexplored places and proudly spark the first flames of revolution, just as the proud Prisma collection does. These are precisely the values represented by the BROKIS installation for Designblok 2022 – Light Up The Trees.
You can find the BROKIS forest of light at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague, space C.01.
