One of them is the crackle technique, which creates a distinctive fractured texture within the glass. While the glass is still molten, it is briefly immersed in cold water, causing the outer layer to crack through thermal shock. The piece is then reheated and blown into its final form, preserving the intricate network of fine fractures beneath a smooth surface. In the Under Pressure collection by Boris Klimek and Lenka Damová, this traditional craftsmanship becomes an integral part of the design. Combined with the collection’s signature central metal rod, the crackle finish enhances the illusion of glass shaped by invisible forces, creating a compelling dialogue between material, light, and form.
